Main Duties and Responsibilities:
– All aspects of the nursery including the management of all staff, parents and children and the overall day to day running’s.
– Lead and inspire your team to ensure outstanding practices, standards and services are always met.
– The day to day oversight of safeguarding, health & safety practices and child protection ensuring accurate records are kept.
– Ensure all staff are managed effectively, keeping up to date with all necessary HR procedures including probationary periods, appraisals, sickness, disciplinaries.
– Overseeing the nurseries finances including ways to increase revenue, effective budgeting, cutting of costs when necessary, sending out invoices, chasing and processing payments and the essential management of staffing costs.
– Coordinate with senior management on all marketing efforts to ensure high conversion rates from show arounds to bookings.
– To ensure the nursery is OFSTED ‘ready’ at all times.
– The supervision and implementation of our nursery management software (Connect, Iconnect & Parentzone).
– Ensuring the EYFS is followed and implemented to the highest standard.
– Attend monthly managers meetings with the management teams of all three nurseries and members of the senior management team.
– To prepare and encourage all staff to be ready and confident during OFSTED inspections.
– To work closely with the senior management team to uphold and improve the nursery’s finances, standards, and quality of staff.
Person Specification for Nursery Manager:
– Previous experience in a Senior Position within an early years setting (Essential)
– Experience of working with children aged 0 – 5 years (Essential)
– Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification (Essential)
– Knowledge of OFSTED standards, the EYFS and The Children Act (Essential)
– Awareness of Health and Safety and Risk Assessments (Essential)
– Level 5 certificate in leadership and management (Desirable)
– First Aid qualification and Food and Hygiene Certificate (Desirable as training available)
The position is a 35 hour contract with shifts between 07:30-18:00 Monday – Friday.

Post Designation: Qualified Nursery Nurse level 3 for Little Walkers Day Nurseries WV3
Full Time, Part Time and Term Time Only Contracts available.
(NVQ LEVEL 3 or Equivalent)
Roles and Responsibilities
- To work in partnership with other team colleagues.
- To give a high standard of care and education to the children attending the nursery setting.
- To read and fully comply with the nurseries policies and procedures of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- To be involved in out of hours working activities i.e. staff meetings, outings and training.
- Recording and complete records within the playroom i.e. iconnect, registers, daily routine, bathroom sheets, medical sheets etc.
- To supervise students when on placement in nursery setting.
- To give prescribed medication to children with parent’s/carers written consent.
- Be responsible for your own Key worker group, ensuring paper work is completed for children’s next steps, profiles, planning and capturing the journey.
- Ensuring that the day to day running of the room is maintained to a high standard.
- To attend room meetings as and when needed alongside your colleagues.
- To carry out specific child care tasks i.e. children’s toileting needs, changing children’s clothes when required, feeding and supervising children at meal times.
- Ensuring you always work in partnership with parents/carers.
- To undertake domestic tasks within the nursery setting i.e. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment and toys, cleanliness of playrooms, kitchen and bathrooms.
- To comply with HACCP, COSHH, Fire Regulations and Health and Safety Regulations of the nursery setting i.e. risk assessments – identifying and reporting of hazards, accident/incident sheets etc.
- To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed.
- To always conduct yourself in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality.
- To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
