At Little Walkers we believe in growing and developing little people through three key areas of wellbeing:
Free Minds
We aim to help children develop clear and bold thinking. We do this by:
- Providing child led activities encouraged by supportive practitioners.
- Establishing environments that promote strong communication and language skills.
- Fostering children to recognise their emotions and feelings through self-regulation areas and mindfulness activities.
- Enabling children to recognise the power of self expression with the help from caring and kind staff.
- Creating a curriculum that builds up on play experiences whilst also providing a stimulating environment for cognitive development.
Healthy Bodies
We aim to help children develop great nutritional and movement habits. We do this by:
- Demonstrating a healthy, well-balanced menu with food cooked freshly onsite every day by our experienced cooks.
- Promoting outdoor play in all weathers to ensure our little people get to experience the great outdoors whilst developing key physical skills.
- Bringing movement inside through ‘Wake up, shake up’, Yoga, dancing, and physical play provided onsite by our practitioners.
- Helping our children understand the importance of good physical and oral hygiene through the promotion of parent partnership and daily hygiene activities.
Strong Spirits
We aim to help children develop independent and confident play. We do this by:
- Providing an enabling environment that children feel is fun, happy and safe.
- Helping our children develop key relationships with their peers and our practitioners by utilising their personal, social and emotional development skills.
- Delivering a rich and exciting curriculum that is based around learning through play whilst also discovering the world around us with the aid of day trips, home learning and role play.
